Therio Conference attendees and exhibitors will receive a discounted rate at the Omni Grove Park Inn when they register online through the SFT website or using the group code when they call for reservations. The discounted rate is $239 plus tax if you register before June 25 2016. Therio Conference guest registration also includes a waived resort fee ($25) which includes the following:

Parking is available at the Inn, $15 per day to self-park or $22 per day for valet parking.

Voted one of the “Top resort spas in the U.S.” by Condé Nast Traveler, the 43,000 square foot world class The Spa at the Omni Grove Park Inn has multiple variations of spa packages, including massages, facials, body treatments, pedicures, hand and foot treatments (which include a glass of champagne and Spa chocolates). Reservations are recommended to be booked months in advance, so when you are making your room reservation, call about a spa day too. You can also enjoy the spa pools, sauna, eucalyptus infused steam room and much more by purchasing a spa pool and day pass once you are at the resort.

There are five on site restaurants to choose from while staying at the Omni Grove Park Inn and for after-hours fun there are four bars/lounges located in the resort.

Overflow Room Block

If you are unable to get a room at the Omni Grove Park Inn, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Four Points by Sheraton Asheville Downtown at $189/night. Therio Conference Plenary Speaker Dr. Joseph C. Dalton

Dr. Joseph C. Dalton is a professor and extension dairy specialist in Animal and Veterinary Science at the University of Idaho. He received his Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech. Dalton is currently a co-project director of a multi-institutional, five -year USDA-NIFA-AFRI grant focused on “Improving the Fertility of Dairy Cattle using Translational Genomics.” Overall, Dalton’s research in applied male and female reproductive physiology focuses on factors important to increasing the efficiency of artificial insemination (AI) in cattle. Dalton’s extension program emphasizes the enhancement of reproductive efficiency in cattle. He has given presentations at conferences throughout the United States, Canada, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Ireland, and the Philippines. Dalton serves as the past president of the Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council. Dalton will be speaking from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, July 29, at the 2016 Therio Conference in Asheville. His topics will be “Genetics and Genomics: An introduction” and “Genomics and Fertility: Where are we going and when will we get there?”
