Opportunities to Serve SFT and AVMA

The Society for Theriogenology Executive Board will be appointing a member as Alternate Delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates at the January board meeting.  We thank Dr. Chet Rawson for his years of service to the Society and the profession in this area.  The term is four years and runs from September 16, 2011 – September 15, 2015.  Expenses related to attending meetings are fully reimbursed.  Formal meetings are held twice per year, at the January Leadership Conference in Chicago and the summer AVMA Convention.  This is a wonderful opportunity to be a voice for the profession, representing the SFT in the AVMA.  For additional information or to volunteer for consideration, please contact me, charles@franzmgt.com or 334.395.4666.

The Society requests your consideration in volunteering for an important position on the AVMA Animal Agriculture Liaison Committee.  The Society for Theriogenology Executive Board will be appointing a member to this committee at the January board meeting.  Dr. Chet Rawson has served the Society and the AVMA in this role for five 3-yr terms and will be stepping down this year.  We thank Dr. Rawson for his years of service to the profession in this area.  The term runs from July 16, 2011 – July 26, 2014.  Expenses related to attending meetings are fully reimbursed.  Meetings are held at AVMA headquarters in Schaumburg twice per year.  We would like to appoint two members, one as the representative and one as the alternate.  The alternate would attend meetings the representative is unable to attend.  More information about the committee can be found at the AVMA website, http://www.avma.org/about_avma/governance/entity_descriptions/aalc_descrip.asp.  For additional information or to volunteer for consideration, please contact me, charles@franzmgt.com or 334.395.4666.

The Society for Theriogenology (SFT) and AmericanCollege of Theriogenologists (ACT) issue a call for research abstracts to be presented at the SFT/ACT Annual Conference August 9-13, 2011 in Milwaukee, WI. Abstracts will be considered in two categories:

Non Competitive

Howe, retired professor of classics at the University of Wisconsin and the author of the textbook, "Medical Greek and Latin,” to whom we are indebted for having proposed the word theriogenology.more

Dues Notices Sent - Updates Needed

All members of the Society for Theriogenology should have received a 2011
dues notice which was mailed out in November. If you have not received yours, please contact the Society office at 334-395-4666. 


The postal service has returned several dues notices indicating either
insufficient or wrong address information. You are encouraged to go to the Therio web site (www.therio.org) and check your personal profile to make sure everything is correct. If you have moved or changed your e-mail address or phone number please make the correction on your profile. The Society office will automatically be notified that a change has been made. This will insure
that you do not miss important notices or other Therio news sent through the postal service or by electronic communications.
 

You may also pay your dues online at that time.
