BioVision sponsors Surgical Wet Lab in Seattle
Single Port Laparoscopic Assisted OHE/OE Surgical Wet Lab to be held on Saturday, September 4th
Be one of the first! Following the trend seen in human medicine, the handwriting is already "on the wall.” Laparoscopic surgery in veterinary medicine is the wave of the future. Laparoscopic procedures are minimally invasive, take less time, causes less pain and are profitable. SFT is excited to offer its first small animal laparoscopic surgery wet lab. Dr. Ray Cox, our dynamic speaker from the 2009 meeting, will lead our team of instructors. Participants will enjoy a full, fun-filled day of lecture, live animal demonstration and hands-on surgery, including laparoscopic ovariohysterectomies and ovarioectomies.
This off-site wet lab will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 beginning at 7:00 am when the bus departs and ending at 5:15 pm with a Q & A session on the bus ride back to the hotel. Biovision, our wet lab sponsor, will provide an optional, informal "skull session” dinner at 7:00 pm for those participants who are able to attend. The wet lab fee for conference registered attendees will be $600 and for non-conference attendees it will be $795. Compare this to fees in excess of $1000 for comparable programs. Sign up now and experience the ease and practicality of laparoscopic surgery. Enrollment is limited to the first 24 registrants.

The American College of Theriogenologists is pleased to announce an Educator's Forum for all veterinary educators, this year focusing on active learning. Speakers include JoAnn Wood, MD, who will be discussing the use of team-based learning, and epidemiologist Phil Kass, who will be describing integration of case material into epidemiology training. Other topics that will be discussed include integration of clinical material into basic science courses, use of assessment tools beyond multiple choice examinations, and residency training. Please join us in beautiful Seattle, Washington, September 4, 2010, for the inaugural session of this Educator's Forum."
