The Society for Theriogenology offers educational webinars related to the field of theriogenology free of charge to SFT members. These previously recorded and archived webinars are available here.

The Society for Theriogenology (SFT) has partnered with VIN to offer our members free access to Therio Rounds on VIN even if you are not a VIN member!

To participate in live VIN/Therio Rounds and have access to the archived presentations, please sign up for Therio Rounds on VIN.  Email and request setup for Therio Rounds. Once approved, you will receive a link to set up your account. 

Live participation in the webinar is available for RACE approved CE credit.  Please check with your licensing jurisdiction regarding their specific requirements for RACE acceptance.

Join Karen E. Wolfsdorf, DVM, DACT, for Ultrasound of the Equine Placenta.


This webinar will discuss what a complete trans-rectal and trans-abdominal ultrasound examination should include, how to preform it, what is normal and abnormal, what are the implications, and possible courses of action.


  • Attendees will become familiar with a step-by-step process on how to perform trans-rectal and trans-abdominal ultrasound of the equine placenta.
  • Attendees will be able to identify a normal verses abnormal ultrasound of the placenta.
  • Attendees will understand the relevance of different abnormalities associated with the equine fetal/placental unit.
  • Attendees will become familiar with and understand the possible treatments than can be initiated when different abnormalities are identified on ultrasound.
