Attention all SFT vETERINARY Student Members!
The Society for Theriogenology is pleased to announce the call for student theriogenology clinical case and research abstracts forthe Dr. Jimmy Alexander Student Case and Research Presentation CompetitionSThe competitions will take place at the Annual Therio Conference in sACRAMENTO, CA - July 23-26, 2025.The purpose of this competition is to promote student interest in SFT, to encourage investigative and communication skills and promote greater student participation in our annual conference. All SFT veterinary student members, defined as those SFT student members in the professional degree curriculum leading to a DVM, VMD or other equivalent degree, are qualified and encouraged to enter the competition. The student theriogenology clinical case and research presentations give the SFT membership a look at future leaders in the field and participants of the Society. Abstracts must be submitted via the online form by 11:59 pm ET Monday, March 3, 2025. Please note that abstracts submitted after midnight will not be accepted. A panel of academicians and private practitioners will review manuscripts. Students will be notified by Wednesday, April 2, 2025, if their submissions have been accepted. Eight (8) clinical case abstracts will be selected to be presented orally during the 2025 conference. Qualifying research abstracts will be invited to present competitive posters. Clinical Case Abstracts not selected for oral presentation may be selected
for noncompetitive poster presentations. Further instructions will follow notification of acceptance. Both competitive and non-competitive poster presentations will be held Friday, July 25th beginning at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. All poster presenters should be available during this timeslot to answer questions. Students invited to present their case and research abstracts competitively will receive (1) complimentary conference registration. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements for travel and accommodation. Students invited to present their abstracts orally for the competition may be eligible for a travel stipend offered through the Theriogenology Foundation. Grant information and applications are available on the Theriogenology Foundation website. Hotel information will be available on the SFT Conference web page when conference registration opens on February 10, 2025. Please be aware the oral presentations are a competition. Contestants will be judged on both the quality of their investigation and the quality of their presentation. Students must attend the Therio Conference in Sacramento to be eligible for the awards. More than one student may be involved with the presentation of a case or research project, however, only one prize will be awarded per presentation. Winners will be announced at the conference.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY Applicants must be active student members of The Society for Theriogenology, including students graduating in 2025. Submissions must be received by Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11:59pm. You will receive an email confirmation of your submission. If you do not receive acknowledgement, please contact the office at info@therio.org. Please make sure you have this information available when submitting your application: Name; Veterinary School; School Address; Year of graduation; Email; Cell Phone; Faculty Liaison; Faculty Email New for 2025, students are asked to provide 2 copies of their abstract: (1) blinded and (1) unblinded. Please refer to the 2025 Abstract Reference Guide also linked in the portal for additional formatting information, instructions for properly blinding your abstract and sample score sheets for written abstracts and oral presentations. You will be able to make edits and resubmit your abstract to the portal until March 3rd. You will be required to submit a copy of your Power Point Presentation to the SFT office at info@therio.org no later than Wednesday, July 16, 2025 and bring a copy with you to the conference. Basic Formatting Reference Font: Single spaced, Times New Roman (12 point) Header: Title, authors, and their affiliations must be centered at the top of the page. Please do not include illustrations, photographs, graphs, or diagrams in the body of your abstract. When selecting the Submit Abstract Button, you will be directed to the abstract management portal and provided with detailed instructions for submitting.
